The Process of Nose Cleansing with Water or Nasal Enema Jala Neti can be practised at home with only a few essential nasal enema supplies: the Neti Pot, clean water at a lukewarm temperature and Jala Neti salt. The salt is used for a smoother enema experience as it reduces the burning sensation which unsalted water may cause. The following simple steps are used to administer a nasal enema: #Step 1: Fill the Neti pot with water and add the salt in it. Regular table salt may contain impurities which are not recommended. #Step 2: Standing straight, move your head forward and tilt it slightly to the left. #Step 3: Insert the tube of the Neti pot into your right nostril and gently pour in a little water. Keep your mouth open slightly to breathe. You will be able to feel the water smoothly travel up from your right nostril to your sinus cavity and come back down and out through your left nostril. #Step 4: Expel any mucus that becomes loosened in the process and wants to get out before repeating the process. For a beginner, the process might take some getting used to but with practice, you can expect a smooth inflow and outflow of water without any feeling of discomfort. Like it?
