APTT Test is also known as activated partial thromboplastin time. It is a test of screening that helps to evaluate the time it takes for blood to clot. The number of seconds taken for blood to clot is measured. When a person gets a cut, you apply pressure and the bleeding stops but when it does not stop you will bruise or bleed easily.

What is the reason for the APTT Test?

In our body, different clotting PSA test take place but suddenly when a clot does not take place you know there is a problem and some substance in your system is not enough and that affects the time it takes for blood to clot.

APTT test looks at the different factors to see how well they are working. APTT test is done along with another test called prothrombin time (PT) which looks at a different set of clotting factors. When these tests are done a doctor gets a complete picture of what happens in the body when a clot is formed. A doctor may ask for these tests to check a bleeding disorder which is known as hemophilia.

In Louisiana, employers ask applicants for drug testing. The federal government allows employers to test applicants for drugs in case of sensitive industries such as aviation, transportation, department of defense and NASA contractors. In other cases the Federal government does not ask for drug tests nor does it prohibit drug testing. The state and local laws decide whether an employer should test applicants and employees for drugs.
