Halitosis can be caused by many different factors including the foods we eat.  While occasional bad breath is something that most people do not worry too much Potato chips Machine for sale about, chronic bad breath is a totally different story.  Imagine having bad breath no matter what you do to get rid of it.  This condition is known as halitosis and it is no laughing matter. What Is Halitosis?Halitosis is more than just a condition commonly known as chronic bad breath.  A person with halitosis will need the attention of a dentist.  This is because while most bad breath is from the mouth especially after eating something that has a strong odor, halitosis is something that remains and it could be caused by a number of other things.  Halitosis is commonly found to exist around the tongue, and when the mouth becomes dry, this is when the odors are released and can be quite unpleasant for anyone who is unfortunate enough to smell it.

This chronic condition is caused by the metabolic activity of oral bacteria.  There are more than 600 types of bacteria that are found in the average mouth and these bacteria process the proteins trapped in our mouth.  Some of these bacteria can produce really high levels of odors that are unpleasant to smell.  Again, since most bacteria are found on the tongue, it is the ideal place for what are known as anaerobic bacteria (bacteria that does not need oxygen to grow) and when left on the tongue, it can produce a "rotten egg" smell that is actually the odors of sulfur compounds.  If it is left like this, halitosis is developed. How Do I Know If I Have Chronic Bad Breath?Knowing if you have halitosis is the first step in getting rid of it and it is important that you detect it first.  You will know if you have chronic bad breath if you see that it affects your social and professional life, people step back a little when you talk to them, or when someone offers you candy or mints when you talk.  You will also know that you have a it if you have a bad taste in your mouth or you have a yellowish film that coats your tongue (which can be detected by brushing it or by inspecting your tongue with a mirror). How Do I Treat Chronic Bad Breath? This condition can be attributed to a number of things.  You may want to change your diet because it could be caused by certain foods that you eat.  Bacteria that causes bad breath usually comes from the food we eat and so you must choose your food wisely.  Of course, this will be difficult to do, so you must also follow a strict regimen to get rid of the bacteria.  This includes brushing and flossing after every meal to remove bacteria from the mouth (including brushing the tongue), to remove layers of plaque, food debris and dead cells, and to remove leftover food particles that the bacteria can use to create odorous particles that result in halitosis.
