There are two ways through which you can easily setup Netgear AC1900 extender.

  1. Netgear Installation Assistant.

  2. WPS (WiFi-Protected Setup).

You can choose any one of the above-mentioned methods for Netgear Nighthawk setup without app.

Using Netgear Installation Assistant

To setup Netgear extender using Netgear installation assistant:

  1. Turn on your Netgear Nighthawk EX7000 AC1900 WiFi range extender. Wait for the power LED on AC1900 to become stable. If you don't see the power LED on your Netgear extender, push the power (on/off) button on it.

  2. Connect your existing router to your Netgear extender. Make sure that the firmware on your router is of latest version.

  3. Now, open a web browser on a computer, mobile device or laptop and enter mywifiext.net in its address bar. In order to prevent mywifiext.net not working issues, make sure that the URL isn't entered in the web browser's search bar.

  4. Hit Enter.

  5. Click on new extender setup button.

  6. Netgear extender installation page appears.

  7. Enter the WiFi password in the network key (password) field and click on Next.

  8. Connect your devices to your Netgear extender's WiFi network and click on Continue.

  9. Register your Netgear Nighthawk range extender and click on Finish to complete the Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 setup process.

Now, you can move your Netgear WiFi extender to your preferred location. But make sure that your extender must be placed within the reach of your WiFi router.

Using WiFi-Protected Setup (WPS)

For  Netgear Nighthawk setup using WPS:

  1. Power on your  Netgear WiFi range extender.

  2. Place your Netgear EX7000 extender in the same room where you have placed your WiFi router.

  3. Make sure that the power LED on your router and your EX7000 is stable.

  4. Now, push the WPS button on your Netgear EX7000 AC1900 WiFi range extender.

  5. Wait for a couple of minutes.

  6. Now, push the WPS button on your WiFi router as well.

  7. Once the connection between your Netgear EX7000 extender and your router is successful, you can unplug your Netgear device and plug it to your preferred location. But make sure that location to place your Netgear extender must be the center location of your house.

Important Points:

  • If the Link Rate LED on your Netgear EX7000 extender is green, it means that the connection between your router and the extender is optimum.

  • If the Link Rate LED on your Netgear EX7000 extender is amber, it means that the connection between your router and the extender is good.

  • If the Link Rate LED on your Netgear EX7000 extender is red, it means that the connection between your router and the extender is poor.

  • And if the LED is off, it means that your devices are not connected with each other.
