If there is a long time between each meal it may be a good idea to supplement with a small snack. This is to important to maintain a stable blood sugar and to ensure maximum efficiency. Some people are accustomed to eating frequent meals, while others may let it go several hours between each time. In extreme cases we see those who only eat one big meal a day!

As a rule of thumb one can say that if it goes more than 4 hours between each meal, it is wise to consider supplementing with a snack. One is then able to curb the worst hunger while keeping the concentration at top. To ensure a smooth metabolism, it is also wise to eat fairly frequently. Some people trying to lose weight skip one or more of the meals. They then become so hungry that it in turn they are at risk of over eating. If you eat between meals, it is therefore easier to eat normal amounts of food in the main meals.
