Tesla model 3 becomes most sold electric car

A large part of the cars is the Tesla Model 3, which is now the world's most popular electric car model.

There were registered 355,704 cars in 2019 in Sweden, making it the third-best year ever. This year, registrations are projected to fall by 7 percent.

The prognosis of 335,000 passenger cars that we laid at the beginning of 2019 and which we revised to 345,000 cars in November was exceeded. This was due to a very strong end to the year. In December alone, registrations increased by 108 percent. Many registered their new car before the vehicle tax increased sharply from January 1, 2020, when the new test method WLTP was introduced in the Bonus-Malus system.
