Pruner comparison: Our leaderboard with recommendations

Buying a pruner is relatively easy. But whether it was the right one? We want to minimize wrong decisions and have therefore compiled a list of pruners. Our recommendations are based purely on the product properties and those reviews that were available to us on the Internet. Our comparison includes variants with a battery, cable and petrol engine. Best Pole Saw

If you want to compare pruners with each other, it is primarily about performance. Take into account the amount and thickness of the wood to be sawed, as well as its degree of hardness. For hardwood (e.g. beech, oak, ash), almost only petrol pruners come into question.

The equipment and its quality determine the price. Also the scope of delivery and any special features. For a complete leaderboard, we have also noted the weight, length and, if possible, the volume set by the manufacturer.

It starts with a comparison of different cordless pruners.

Electric pruner comparison

Electric pole pruners are connected to the mains with a cable. This makes you powerful and quite quiet, but less flexible in use because of the cable.

Information about the leaderboard

We are aware that there are always new pruner models to buy. For this reason, alone we renew our leaderboard from time to time. It may also happen that some pruners are no longer produced. However, recommending them would not do justice to the goal of optimal buying advice. We always try to keep the data up to date and ask for your understanding if an error has crept in.

History of the pruners: origin, invention, etc.

To understand the development of the pruner, we first have to look at its predecessors. It is a motorized garden tool. So we can speak of a special type of chain saw. At the same time, the device is much slimmer and lighter. Its look is, therefore, more reminiscent of hedge trimmers. Wikipedia calls it a “pole saw” and so does it. However, without making reference to the origin.
