Three Stages of Metal Wear Resistant Castings

Posted by wearresistant William on January 15th, 2020

Over the past hundred years, wear resistant castings has gone through three stages.

1. The first generation of wear-resistant materials represented by high manganese steel.

2. The second generation of wear-resistant materials represented by nickel hard cast iron.

3. The third generation wear-resistant materials represented by high chromium cast iron and various alloy steels.

The research and application of wear-resistant materials were mostly completed before 1960s. Some consumable parts such as ball mill balls and lining plates have been intensively mass produced by some multinational companies using relatively mature technologies and materials.

They put more energy on the improvement and standardization of manufacturing technology and equipment, and adopted more advanced and modern production equipment and quality control methods, with large output, high production efficiency, stable quality and greatly reduced manufacturing costs.

Shenyang Gongda Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a prominent and highly recognized manufacturer and supplier of high quality metal castings.
