(IEC) Code is a 10-digit number assigned by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to someone who deals in importing or exporting of goods.

  • Rent agreement copy or copy of electricity bill of the premise

Application to DGFT – At the initial stage you’re required to send an application to DGFT in Aayaat Niryaat Form 2A format.

Required documents must be submitted along with Aayaat Niryaat Form 2A. DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) must be there on the form.

Application fee – Application must be submitted to DGFT with required application fee. If there would be any necessity for alteration DGFT would send back the application to you. After making the required corrections you should reply DGFT by 15 days.

Issuance of Import Export Code -

Once complete verification of the application is done DGFT would issue the Import Export Code for your business. You’ll receive the code in both soft and hard copy. In case there is a delay in receiving the hard copy of the registered version of the IEC you can still start business transactions with the soft copy that you’ll receive through email.
