How heat sink fin gap works in natural cooling?

Heat sink technology includes different kinds of heat sink. Such as skived fin heat sink, heat pipe heat sink, led heat sinks and so on. Here we’re talking about the gap of heat sink fin. As usual in thermal engineering quite bit quite meets the attention . The fin gap of a heat sink, if not optimized for your application, can actually reduce the thermal efficiency of your heat sink. If the fins are too narrowly place then the channel is just too narrow and air features a harder time getting through! Think of air because it really is: a fluid. Don’t forget that in physics, a fluid are often either liquid or a gas. That should help you to visualize what’s going on.

The project we were working on was for a rather large heat sink, for a wireless network remote radio head (RRH) application. The customer was another Telecommunications Equipment. The customer actually had developed their own conductor for natural cooling. While the planning was basically on track , the thermal performance just wasn’t there to chill their RRH.
