Types of Training for Assessors

The Government of United Kingdom has three different training programs for aspiring assessors.

  1. Understanding Level Training

The Understanding Level assessor course UK helps you learn the principles as well as the practices of assessment. However, it does not require the participants to practice as the assessors. After completing this Level-3 qualification, you can develop plans in order to assess the competence of the candidates. You can assess the skills of candidates and can judge the quality of evidence against the specified standards. You also learn various methods of assessment through this training program.

  1. Competence Level Training

If you want to assess a learner’s work activities in his/her work environment, then you need to complete the TAQA assessor course. You will develop the skills to evaluate the achievement of competence within a work environment after completing this course. The competence level course is usually divided in two units. The first unit is theoretical where you learn the theory of assessment. In the second unit, you learn through the practical application of assessing in the work environment. The trainee assessors need to create a portfolio of evidence in order to show that they have met the performance criteria before achieving this qualification.

  1. Vocational Level Training

Alongside helping the participants to understand the practice of assessment, this level of training provides you with the efficiency to evaluate the achievement of the vocational skills. This course is also divided in theoretical and practical training sessions for better understanding of the role.
