Unawatuna Beach

Unawatuna Beach is a coastal town in Galle District of Sri Lanka. Unawatuna is a major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka and known for its beach and corals. Unawatuna is rich in its biodiversity. Its greatest potential attraction for eco-tourism was the marsh land or mangrove, Kadolana, which was partially dredged and filled to develop a hotel for a German hotel chain.

Bentota Beach

Bentota is a small town situated on coastal areas in Sri Lanka. Positioned 65 kilometers south of Colombo the capital, in the Bentota region of the Southern Province 
It is quite famous for its breath taking view, and especially the Bentota Beach.

Hikkaduwa Beach

Hikkaduwa beach which is labeled as one of the best surfing site in Sri Lanka and for Hikkaduwa Coral Sanctuary which is located a few meters away from the shore. Hikkaduwa Beach and Surfing Hikkaduwa beach is one of the most popular tourist places in Sri Lanka Known for the harmonized and calm environment.

Negombo Beach

Negombo Beach is a small beach town located near Bandaranaike International Airport. It is full of decent hotels and restaurants, as well as an OK beach (though a bit polluted). Negombo is frequently where tourists spend their first day or two in Sri Lanka resting up after a long and exhausting plane ride. Before they head on to explore Sri Lanka.

Tangalle Beach

Tangalle is the gateway to the wide-open spaces and wide-open beaches of southeast Sri Lanka. It's the last town of any size before Hambantota and has some old-world charm. Mirissa Beach is a great place to go whale watching. There are many tour companies that offer whale and dolphin Whale watching tours and if you are lucky you can get to see many different types. Blue whales, Bryde’s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales and Orca have all been spotted off Mirissa.

Arugambay

Hailed as one of the best surfing destinations in the world, many events are held each year under the patronage of Sri Lanka Tourism Authority to promote this beach, the ones to watch are regional championships held each year in May – June. Arugambay is located on southeast corner of the island in close proximity to Kumana, which is one of the best places for birdwatchers, and Lahugala another destination to observe elephants in Sri Lanka.

Nilaweli Beach

 Nilaweli Beach is a coastal resort town and suburb of the Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka located 16 km northwest of the city of Trincomalee. A historically popular Tamil village and tourist destination of the district alongside the nearby Uppuveli, the numbers of visitors declined following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and Sri Lankan Civil War, but have risen again since 2010. Pigeon Island National Park, one of the two marine national parks of the region is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaweli Beach, its many species of vegetation, coral and reef fish contributing to Nilaveli's rich biodiversity.

Pasikudah Beach

Pasikudah it used to be a popular tourist destination, however suffered huge devastation following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and the Sri Lankan Civil War. Foreign travel to Pasikudah has recently increased due to growth in investment and development. It is home to the Pasikudah Mariam man temple. Pasikudah is easily accessible from the cities of Trincomalee and Batticaloa.The nearest airport to Pasikudah is Batticaloa Airport, which has scheduled flights operating from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

Weligama Beach

Weligama (meaning ‘Sandy Village’) is an interesting blend of lively fishing town and beach resort. The sprawling main settlement and coastal road is somewhat scruffy and not that easy on the eye, but you'll find the sandy beach is attractive once you're away from the main section; there's a couple of cove beaches west of the Centre. At the east end of the beach, there's an enormous new concrete Marriott hotel, which towers over the surrounding buildings and looks completely out of place.
