In the act, 1948, the Promulgated of Employees State Insurance presumed an integrated requirement based scheme of social insurance that would defend the workers' interest in contingencies such as permanent physical disablement, maternity, temporary or sickness, death of an employee due to employment injury happening in loss of earnings or wages.

ESI Medical

An epidural steroid injection (Employees State Insurance) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help relieve neck, arm, back, and leg pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves due to spinal stenosis or disc herniation. Medicines are delivered to the epidural space, which is a fat-filled area between the bone and the protective sac of the spinal nerves. Pain relief may last for several days or even years. The goal is to reduce pain so that you may resume normal activities and a physical therapy program.

Medical Benefit

Full care of medically is given to every person registered under section ESI Registration Act 1948 and their members of the family – from the day enters of person insurable employment. There is no cover on expense on the treatment of a Guaranteed Person or his member of the family. The care of medically is also afforded to retired and disabled insured persons permanently and their spouses on a token annual premium payment of Rs.120/-.

Maternity Benefit

The benefit of maternity of pregnancy/confinement is given for three months, which is extendable by additional one month on medicinal information at the price of the full subject of wage to contribution for 70 days in the year of the preceding.

Sickness Benefit

Sickness benefit in the cash payment form at the rate of 70 per cent of salaries is payable to protected during workers duration of certified sickness for 91 days maximum in one year. To qualify for sickness benefit, the injured worker is needed to provide for 78 days in six months contribution period. Workers suffering from destructive and diseases of long-term can claim of sickness benefit extended for up to two years at an increased rate of 80 per cent of salaries. Also, enhanced the benefit sickness equal to full wage is payable to undergoing sterilization insured persons for 7 days and 14 days for both people male and female workers respectively.

Disablement Benefit

Beginning insurable employment and irrespective from the day of becoming paid any contribution, 90 per cent of salary is payable as large as the short disability continues. The benefit of permanent disablement is payable at the rate of 90 per cent of salary in the form of one monthly payment, in case of based of permanent disablement on the extent of loss of capacity of earning as certified by a Board of Medical.

Dependant Benefit

Dependant benefit is paid at the rate of 90 per cent of salary in the monthly payment form to the deceased insured person dependants, in cases of death occurs due to employment injury or professional hazards.

Funeral Expenses

Payable amount of Rs.10 thousand is to the dependents or to the person who performs last rites entering insurable employment from day one.

Unemployment Allowance

Following the Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana, allowance for unemployment is payable to an Insured Person who displays unemployed after staying insured three or more years, due to closure of establishment/factory, permanent invalidity or retrenchment?
