Pass

It is always your own responsibility to bring the necessary papers and travel documents on the cruise, including passports and visas. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the departure date. Please check that the names in the passport and booking reservation are identical. Please note that MyCruise will charge a fee if the name of the booking reservation needs to be changed.

Children and infants must have their own passport. Children traveling with other than their parents and/or parents with other surnames are asked to contact us before departure.

cruise is not responsible for consequences arising from the absence of, or invalid, passport or visa. The traveler can be denied access if the passport is damaged. You can always find more information about the current passport rules at polisen.se as well as current visa rules on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

visa

Please note that many countries require a visa and often a multiple entry visa (multiple entries). Therefore, it is important that you check the rules that apply exactly to your destination before departure, and obtain any necessary visa. cruise is not responsible for consequences arising from the lack of, or invalid, visa. If there is a stopover or transit in the trip, you should be aware that it may apply to specific visa rules. You always find up-to-date information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Please note, for cruises to Russia and Libya, a visa is required if you want to go ashore on your own. If you choose to follow along with the shipping company's excursions, the shipping company organizes visas on board. Visas to Dubai are available at Dubai Airport and are free for Danish nationals.

When traveling to India, you need a visa. You can easily order this through our partner Visa Service.

Travel rules to Cuba

When entering Cuba, travel insurance is compulsory to cover the cost of care in Cuba. You may be asked to document this to the authorities at Havana Airport. Travel insurance must be in English! If you have probably not taken out such travel insurance before departure (can be ordered from MyCruise), you can do so at one of the insurance companies at Havana Airport. It costs 2.50 CUC per person per day, and you are over 70 years old 4.50 CUC per person per day.

Travel rules to the United States

Swedish nationals do not need a visa to the US, but you should remember to fill in a pre-authorization online (ESTA) at least 3 days before departure. Unfortunately, MyCruise cannot help with this, as the form must be filled in by the traveler himself. Once the ESTA form is completed and approved, it is important that you print it and bring it along on your journey.

ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is an electronic successor to the old system of paper forms, and the form is available on ESTA's official website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/application.html?execution=e1s1

When applying for ESTA, please note that you fill in the information exactly as it appears in your passport. Infants with a Swedish passport must also be ESTA approved. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) charges a small fee of approx. $ 14 per person, paid by credit card on the website.

Usually, an electronic ESTA application is approved within a few seconds, but if the answer is “PENDING,” (pending), an automatic routine examination will be done, and the answer will, according to the authorities, be ready within a maximum of 72 hours. That traveler is given a check number to write down and bring with him. If you reject your application, you should visit the US Embassy in Copenhagen. An ESTA permit of the traveler's application is valid for two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

Please note, an ESTA permit does not guarantee entry into the United States. The permit only acts as a green light to the airline, which means they have permission to fly you to the United States. The actual entry permit is still being provided by the immigration authorities at the US airport of arrival. If ordering a visa through the consulate's website is difficult or cumbersome, our partner visa service can help you:

Travel rules to Canada

Visa regulations have been changed to Canada, and it is now necessary for Swedish nationals to bring an entry permit to Canada. The rules apply even if you only stop in Canada on the way to another destination. An entry permit is called eTA and costs only approx. 7 CAD.

You apply for eTA online. The application will usually be approved within a few minutes if there are no comments. However, to be on the safe side, we recommend that you apply for an eTA as soon as you have booked your trip. You can apply for eTA to Canada here Remember to print a copy of your eTA, once approved, as you will need to show it at the airport.
