Some Odd But Interesting Facts That You Must Know About CBD

If you aren’t familiar with cannabidiol, you might be wondering why your search result page shows CBD oil for sale in Denver when you type organic oils. Cannabidiol is one of the many compounds found in Cannabis sativa plants. Even after the 2018 Farm Bill legalized industrial hemp (a strain of Cannabis sativa) and its products with certain restrictions, CBD-based products are subject to many debates among lawmakers and the regular people alike. One side seems intent on promoting it as the ultimate cure for just about anything you can think of while the other seems concerned that it may lead to addiction. If you’re just curious, here are some odd but interesting facts about cannabidiol you might want to know:

CBD Oil And Hemp Oil Are Different

Many people confuse between CBD and hemp oil because they are both extracted from the same plant. It doesn’t help that the manufacturers tend to mislabel them sometimes. But cannabidiol and hemp oils are not the same. Hemp oil, also called hemp seed oil comes from the seeds of the plant which don’t contain cannabidiol or tetrahydrocannabinol. CBD oil or hemp extract oil is extracted from the plant’s leaves, stems and buds. If you aren’t sure what the hemp oil store is selling you, you can check the label for CBD concentration to be sure. Hemp oil may contain trace amounts of cannabidiol while CBD oil contains at least twelve percent.

CBD Oil Is Legal In Most States

According to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-based products are legal for production, sale and use at the federal level as long as the crop is produced by licensed farmers and contains no more than 0.3 percent THC. It is also legal for medical and recreational use in most states except Idaho, Nebraska and South Dakota, though lawmakers in South Dakota have started pushing for the legalization of industrial hemp. Until then, you might want to avoid, buying, selling or transporting hemp-derived products in these states.

CBD Can Be Extracted From Hemp And Marijuana

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that cannabidiol can be extracted from hemp and marijuana but many do because the marketers have put a lot of effort into disassociating the two. Hemp and marijuana are strains of Cannabis sativa and both contain CBD and THC. However, industrial hemp contains no more than 0.3 percent THC while marijuana contains a higher concentration.

CBD Does Not Make You High

Cannabidiol does not intoxicate your brain, it reduces intoxication caused by smoking weed and increases alertness. Intoxication is caused by tetrahydrocannabinol, another compound found in Cannabis sativa that interacts with the endocannabinoid system and intoxicates the brain. Cannabidiol also interacts with this system and reverses the effects. The average CBD oil for sale in Denver or elsewhere in the US contains no more than 0.3 percent THC making it safe for consumption.

Cannabidiol May Have Many Benefits

Despite what many people believe, hemp-derived products are not all talk and no walk. Many studies have shown that cannabidiol may treat skin diseases (like acne, psoriasis, eczema, etc.), relieves anxiety, relieves pain and boosts neuron regeneration. However, it may take a while for the oil to show results.

Epidiolex Is The Only FDA-Approved Cannabidiol Medicine

At present, the FDA has not approved any CBD-based medication to treat any disease except Epidiolex to treat seizures in patients suffering from Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. You need a prescription to acquire this drug. FDA does not approve of sellers claiming any medical benefits and may send notices to them but sellers do make such claims anyway.

Hemp Is An Ancient Crop

Some studies claim that this crop is possibly one of the oldest crops cultivated by humans, tracing its origins as far back as 10000 years ago. Ancient Chinese and Mesopotamians used them for fabric and food. Ancient Romans used it for medicine.

These are just some odd but interesting facts about cannabidiol products. If you are interested then you can learn more about them at a hemp oil store.
