There are more than seventy-six percent of people who have experience with drug addiction. One thing is for sure, addiction is a major problem that needs urgent attention. Addiction can turn to one of the worst diseases if not treated properly.

Many studies have revealed that most people with addiction have a history of mental health issues that are linked to drugs. Since so many people have mental health issues, it is no wonder why there are so many drug related murders.

The world today has more drug addicted persons than ever before. All the nations of the world need to develop drug addiction treatment facilities because there are also risks of drug use in other countries.

Addiction problems are very serious and need proper treatment. A lot of factors come into play when it comes to addiction.

Addiction affects people in different ways and makes them turn to drugs because they feel rejected. There are cases where there are children, adolescents and adults who are turned to drugs because of failure in the family or some traumatic event in their lives.

Substance abuse and addiction are not only to drug use but can also be caused by other addictions such as alcohol, caffeine and smoking. The addiction can affect the family relationships, career, family finances and mental health. People who are addicted to substances might not seek help at first and this will only cause even more problems.

Mental health issues can make the person do more drugs even though he or she wants to stop. This is because the mind cannot think straight when addiction affects it badly.

Some are so affected by mental health issues that they do not know where to turn for help. At the same time, they think that they have to suffer alone and that is the sad truth.
