Why Your Coinbase Transactions Not Showing Up?

Worried about why your Coinbase transactions are not showing up in your account? Do not worry as I am going to tell you why it is happening. Coinbase incoming transactions always show up within a few seconds, but it will appear as ‘Pending’ until it receives network confirmation. The confirmation is based on the digital currency. Only after the confirmation, your transaction will appear as complete green, otherwise, in case of pending transactions, it will appear in the yellow color.

Verified transactions are not reversible and you can withdraw all your funds. As the Coinbase has its own digital nodes that communicate with the network, so when you initiate the transaction it will communicate to the rest of the network for the confirmation. However, the nodes may lose sync with the network for a short amount of time, and because of this, your transactions will appear as pending transactions. Usually, it will only take an hour to get back on track and after that, your transactions will eventually go through normally. Seldom the network doesn’t accept the transactions and thus your transactions will never be considered ‘confirmed’.

Common causes of unconfirmed transactions:

  • Sending small amount with insufficient fees

All of the bitcoins transactions require to have a ‘miner fee’ for the confirmation. If you add insufficient fees your transactions will never confirm.

  • A double-spend of the same coins

Usually, it doesn’t happen, but somehow if it does happen it is because the two transactions try to spend the same coins, out of which one transaction will never be confirmed by the network.

  • Spending or trying to spend unconfirmed coins.

This happens when you try to spend pending coins in your account. The transaction will not be generated until the pending coins get the confirmation.

  • A high volume of traffic on the network.

Sometimes there is a lot of digital currency being sent worldwide and there are more transactions processing than there is space in the new block. So, the high volume of traffic on the network sometimes causes unconfirmed transactions.

Conclusion:

Unless you are doing the most common mistakes which are mentioned above in the article while initiating transactions on Coinbase there is no way your transactions would go missing.
