Although I understand that you might want to think that a Drug Rehab Centers can help you eliminate your addiction and get clean, the truth is that you won't be cured by a program like this. Instead, They will focus on changing your attitude towards your addictions. The reason for this is that you will want to remain clean at all times.

This is especially true when you're trying to stay sober. You can't pretend that you don't have a problem; your lifestyle will never change and will only continue to worsen. You need to stay accountable for your actions. Keep these three things in mind:

Avoid Altering Your Lifestyle. If you're trying to stay sober, you need to maintain your sobriety even if it's against your will. Without alcohol, you cannot remain sober. Don't let your addiction manipulate you to drink. You are not an alcoholic or an addict; you need to keep your sobriety.

Quit Seeking Substances. Unless you are desperately seeking a substance to curb your addiction, you need to stay away from it. You can't find a way to stay sober if you are addicted to one thing. The same goes for cigarettes. They are too addictive and you need to cut them out completely if you're ever going to get off the road to recovery.

Don't Mix Alcohol With Drugs. People who mix alcohol with drugs are considered to be in an "addiction cocktail." They should always use asingle substance when they are trying to overcome their addictions and not try to replace the one thing that they're addicted to with another.

So what does this mean for you as a recovering addict? I recommend you continue to build your support system. You need to create new relationships and establish new rules for yourself and your life.

Don't Expect New Rules to Be Created for You - If you feel like you need to create new rules for yourself or take on a new persona for yourself, keep your expectations low. You shouldn't expect that people will start giving you better treatment or treat you differently or need to do things that you used to do.

There's a reason why drug rehabilitation centers are so successful: They provide an environment where addicts can learn to believe that they can succeed and create habits and behavior patterns that they're not proud of. They teach the addicts to approach their addictions in a realistic way that will bring about long-term results. You can't get rid of your addiction overnight.
