3 Tips to Raise Healthy Kids
Posted by jlkropf on February 3rd, 2020
Obesity has been on the rise for decades, and our society is sicker than ever. Furthermore, healthcare costs are through the roof these days!
Yet, no one wants that future for their children. We want them to grow into strong, healthy, and active adults. So, how can we make that happen?
Check out these three tips to raise healthy kids.
Eat Healthy 80% of the Time
Junk food is everywhere at school and activities, but we can control what our kids eat at home. Strive to cook healthy dinners, and make-ahead delicious and clean breakfasts and lunches. If we know our kids are getting nutritious meals, we can relax on the celebratory treats they eat at other times.

Monitor Screen Time
With ipads, iphones, computers, and tv the ways to use screens are endless. But, that screentime can quickly turn into hours when it comes to our kids. Find a system that works at limiting their time. Electronics were such a battle with my kids that we now do screens only on the weekends. It has eliminated many fights in our home, as well as added quality family time.
Make Saturdays Active
Keep your kids moving with planned activities every Saturday. This doesn't have to be complicated! Take a family walk, hike, or bike ride. Play catch in the front yard. Or walk around a museum. Whatever it is, work to get everyone moving for this one day of the week.
Keeping kids healthy doesn't have to take a lot of time, but it does take some intentionality and effort. Yet, seeing your kids grow up ready to take on the world is worth any amount of preparation and planning. Cheers to healthy kids!Top Searches - Trending Searches - New Articles - Top Articles - Trending Articles - Featured Articles - Top Members
