World of Warcraft boosts Vivendi profits

Vivendi Universal has announced a 12.1 percent increase in profits for your second quarter of 2006, thanks partially to the continued success of Blizzardâs World of Warcraft.
Company revenues have risen by 4.824 billion Euro, a growth on 4.585 billion Euro the prior year.
Pre-tax profits reached 1.298 billion Euro, up from 1.158 billion Euro in 2005, together with the company citing Blizzardâs MMORPG as well as Canal+ pay TV as particularly strong performers.
Earnings for VU Games have started 29.6 percent, from 125 million Euro in 2005 to 162 million Euro for your three months ended June 30th. Pre-tax profits for VU Games have started 5 million Euros through the previous period, to arrive at 39 million World of Warcraft Classic Gold Euros.

Cataclysm to file for in China next month
Seven months after its Western release, World Of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm is going to be released in mainland China on July 12.
"We've always appreciated Chinese gamers' passion and support for World of Warcraft, and we're excited they can soon have the ability to enjoy every one of the great new content this expansion can give," commented Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard Entertainment.
