Pompeii

Located in Campania in Italy, Pompeii is the country's most visited museum with almost 9 million visitors annually. Tourists from all parts of the world are attracted by the ruins of Pompeii. It is also listed in the UNESCOWorld Heritage site list and preserves the ruins of the Roman ancient city named Pompeii. Due to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE, everything in the city was buried . The Pompeii museum offers the opportunity to see how ancient Roman people of almost 2,000 years back lived. 

 

Uffizi Gallery

Located in the center of Florence, Uffizi gallery is a world known museum in Florence. It is also the most visited museum in Florence with millions of visitors annually. It was the office for the administration of Florentine people till the 16th century. In 1865 it was declared as the museum which holds the collection of artworks from the Medici family. The gallery includes the artworks of famous Italian artists like Michalangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Raphael and many others. 

 

The Gallery of Academy 

The Gallery of Academy or the Accademia Gallery is the second most visited museums in Florence after the Uffizi Gallery. Although there are a lot of incredible artworks from famous Italian artists, the most famous artwork here is the 17 feet tall statue of David by Michalangelo. The gallery displays the most of the artworks from 13th century to 16th century. 


The palace of Venaria 

Located in Venaria Reale, this present day museum was once the residence of Royals  of the Savoy House. The palace of Venaria is one of the biggest palace’s of the world with the area of 80,000 meter square. Duke Charles Emmanuel commissioned this palace in the 17th century for his hunting expeditions. Considered as the incredible work of Baroque, the Palace of Venaria displays the masterpieces and artworks of the bygone eras. It is one of the best museums in Italy. 

 

The Museo Egizio

Dedicated to the Egypitian anthropology and archaeology, The Museo Egizio is one of the world known museums in Italy. Although it is located in Italy, most of the works in this museum are Egypitian antiquities. Best artworks in the Museum of Egizio includes the Tomb of Kha and of Merit, books of the dead, papyrus writing, funerary paraphernalia, and mummies etc. 

 

The Porcelain Museum 

Located in Casino del Cavaliere in Florence , the Porcelain Museum was open for the public in 1973. This museum is best known for the exhibition of priceless pieces from the Italian royal families. With almost one million visitors annually it is one of the most visited museums in Florence and Italy.
