The Most Commonly Replaced Auto Parts

Posted by Chicago Suntime on February 7th, 2020

People care a lot about their cars.  That’s why regular maintenance is so important.  For many, this type of regular maintenance can be completed in your own garage.  There are some parts that need to be replaced every few months (or in some cases, years).

Here are the parts that require routine replacement:

Filters:  There are many filters that need to be replaced from time to time: air filters, oil filters, cabin air filters, transmission fluid filters, and fuel filters.  Be sure they are working as designed.  A great time to check these filters is when doing oil changes.  Check often and replace when necessary.

Battery:  Whether the batteryis in your remote or in the vehicle itself, neither lasts forever.  All batteries die at some point.  Check them regularly and replace them as necessary.

Timing Belt:  If you don’t replace this belt when needed, it could cause serious damage to your car’s engine.

Starter/Alternator:  These parts also need to be replaced from time to time.  If they don’t work right, your car may not even turn on.

Spark plugs: Spark Plugs are an important element in the engine’s ignition system.  They give power to the engine.  Over time, they suffer from corrosion.  Replace them often – even if you are tempted to search the internet for junk my cars instead.  A new spark plug could give your car new life.

Are you wondering where you can find these parts?  To save money or find parts for older cars, all you have to do is turn to an Illinois junkyard.  They have all the parts you need to keep your car running efficiently and safely.
