Pool Hopping Through the Las Vegas Strip

From the Strip to Downtown, Las Vegas has some of the most luxurious, exciting pool complexes around. Famous for throwing epic parties, Vegas pools offer performances by DJs and live bands, expertly crafted cocktails, scrumptious food, and unique experiences that you won’t find at your average pool party.

To say that Las Vegas gets hot in the summer is a serious understatement, so pools have always been an essential amenity for hotel-casinos in the city. But the debut of the Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel in 2004 changed the entire game for pools in Las Vegas, transforming them from ancillary benefits to the main attraction. The pools have become an extension of the Vegas nightclub experience that’s come to be known as “daylife.” You can’t visit Las Vegas and not go to a pool party, especially since hotels around the city invite both guests and non-guests to take part in the festivities and enjoy the equivalent of nightclubs with water, with DJs and live music. Uncover the legendary pool scene in Sin City with our Las Vegas pool-hopping guide.

KAOS at the Palms

Part of the extensive renovation at the Palms is this massive new entertainment complex, which transitions seamlessly from its nightclub area to an outdoor pool more than twice the size of the club. Daylife bleeds into nightlife with nighttime pool parties featuring A-list DJs, as well as superstar musical artists like Cardi B and G-Eazy, both part of KAOS’s initial residency line-up. Have some Las Vegas strippers come out to your special event?

Topgolf

You can’t blame people for only thinking of golf when they think of Topgolf, but the state-of-the-art driving-range complex behind the MGM Grand is not just a place to hit a few balls. Topgolf’s Hideaway Pool offers access to the facility’s hitting bays, along with cabanas, a 28-foot (nine-meter) TV and a swim-up bar. It’s free to the public and is the perfect way to cool off after a round at the driving range.

Jemaa at NoMad

The revamped NoMad hotel attached to Park MGM has one of the hottest new pool parties in Jemaa, which combines the luxury and sophistication of the NoMad brand (which began in New York City) and the over-the-top energy of Las Vegas entertainment. Inspired by the Majorelle Gardens of Morocco, the pool has a garden oasis vibe and a line-up of DJs and performers to go along.

Breathe at the Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock pioneered the word “daylife” with its renowned Rehab pool party. Its latest pool experience is the Breathe Pool Lounge, which is situated above the hotel’s other pools and offers views of the Strip and a stunning acrylic-edge pool to swim in, along with a curated cocktail menu and a range of music.

Venus Pool Lounge

The Venus Pool Lounge at Caesars Palace is a pool area fit for an emperor, with white Roman columns and a brightly colored interior. Despite its location, the pool is reasonably priced and has both open spaces for the public and private areas. While the lounge has a relaxing vibe during the week, on weekends it turns into a daytime party with DJs playing the latest hits.

The Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan has a pool experience suitable for every kind of guest, from its day club at the world-famous Marquee (which has frequently been ranked as the top-grossing nightclub in the United States) to its funkier Boulevard Pool. The pool is home to outdoor concerts from pop, rock and country acts and a summer movie series that’s shown on a massive 65-foot (20-meter) digital marquee screen.

Encore Beach Club at Wynn

Wynn’s nightlife team has had unparalleled success in recruiting the biggest names in EDM, and Encore Beach Club is an extension of the Wynn and Encore hotel-casino suite of clubs, where superstars like The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer and David Guetta are just part of a typical weekend. For dedicated club-goers, EBC is as essential a destination as any world-class nightclub in the city.

Go Pool at the Flamingo

Situated on the Las Vegas Strip, the Flamingo is decorated with palm trees all around the pool area to give guests a tropical feel. While daylife parties typically focus on the most popular music genres at Vegas nightclubs (mostly EDM and hip-hop), the Go Pool at the Flamingo has had success with reaching out to fans of country music and classic alternatives.

The Wet Republic at Mandalay Bay

This award-winning “ultra pool” (including one accolade for “best-looking daylife servers”) is part of the Hakkasan nightlife juggernaut, with all the DJ star power that comes along with it. Offering more than just epic music, the Wet Republic has 6,000 square feet (550 square meters) of saltwater pools, a large lounge area, cutting-edge video displays and a menu crafted by Hakkasan’s expert chefs.

Drai’s Beach Club

Situated on the Cromwell rooftop, Drai’s is not your average pool. With palm trees and red interiors surrounding the whole area, Drai’s offers a stunning view of the Las Vegas Strip, not to mention tasty poolside dining options, two large pools and an additional five smaller pools for VIP guests. Different genres of music are frequently played by renowned artists and entertainers like Snoop Dogg, DJ Pauly D, French Montana, and A-Trak to suit every guest.
