No one can deny that fresh air is essential for the survival of humans. It is essential for the survival of all living beings; making it extremely crucial for the planet to thrive! A fact that not a lot of people know is that often, indoor air is even worse than outdoor air. While taking care of the whole environment may need some time, with proper ventilation, we can at least ensure good quality indoor air.

Why We Need Proper Ventilation

For over centuries now, homes and workplaces were not always well-ventilated, and they still managed. However, with deteriorating air quality, among other reasons, ventilating our homes and workspaces is necessary now more than ever.

Several reasons justify today’s need for ventilation more than ever before. The most important reason being that houses a hundred years ago were permeable as a design flaw. The houses and buildings weren’t insulated, allowing fresh air to pass in and out through all the cracks, gaps, and holes in the building envelope. Besides that, the buildings then unlike today used mostly natural material for construction, resulting in almost no or very little release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), harmful gases, and chemicals.

Following are some of the benefits of incorporating proper ventilation in houses, workplaces, and other buildings, including the use of air ventilation fans:

1. It Prevents the Inflow of Impurities

It’s a common misunderstanding that the air quality outside the house is much worse than the quality of the air inside the house. More often than not, the air inside the house is much more polluted than the outside air. A good ventilation system like an air ventilation fan helps expel the build-up of pollutants, moisture, bacteria, and even nasty smells like body odour.

2. Better Regulation of Fresh Air

Without a ventilation system, you don’t have control over the airflow in a building. Sometimes, too much fresh air can incur expensive energy bills; precisely why a good ventilation system makes a lot of sense.

3. Prevents Condensation

Condensation most of the times can lead to mould and rotten surfaces; something that no one wants! Condensation and damp conditions can also cause several health issues like respiratory problems and allergic reactions for many people. A good and efficient ventilation system will help reduce these health risks.

4. Brings a Drop in the Temperature

When the number of people increases in a confined space, so does the temperature. And with that increases the discomfort due to the heat! A well-ventilated room is a much more comfortable environment and makes for a more productive workplace.

5. Numerous Health Benefits

Poor ventilation coupled with indoor air pollution can lead to a host of health issues including allergies, headaches, rashes, asthma, and sinusitis. You will most certainly be able to avoid this by installing a good air ventilation fan and system. Not only are the above-mentioned health issues gravely dangerous, but good ventilation ensures that you can breathe good quality air throughout and that the environment doesn’t get too stuffy or too hot.

Now that you are aware of the importance of ventilation, you should proactively take action to ensure that your living and working spaces are properly ventilated. After all, if the air you breathe remains unclean, everyone will inevitably suffer the hazards of the same!
