Nowadays the disturbance occurrence in electrical devices is very common. As we know, the rapid growth of technology is increasing with cables and connections. Thus, the enhancement of connection in electrical line further invites the surges that generate the disturbance and interference in electronic devices.

Serial port surge protection devices (SPDs)protect the AC appliances and DC installation system against power surges (the instant high-rise in voltage and current). These SPDs dissipates the surges and create the safest path of current. These surge protectors include serial port SPDs and telecommunication SPDs.

The DB9 surge protection devices come under DB series surge protectors as it protects the RS485, RS232 and RS422 lines. These SPDs provide secure connection in control lines, AISG lines and sensors. To protect from electrical transients the surge protector should be installed in series between I/O port and data cable. These SPDs cater easy installation at the port. The network is absolute reliable and provide disturbance free connectivity. This surge protector is applicable for telecom, dataline, signaling and   fore-mostly for computer devices.

AC/DC(SPDs) is suitable for low resistance units and high bandwidth transients. These surge protection devices have easy pluggable feature and it protects the signal or telecom devices from lightning surges as well. Also, it offers the immense range of protection in 5V, 12V, 24V, 48V, 60V, 110 V and 230V.

The degree of protection is IP20. It can also sustain the temperature variance of -25ᵒC to +80ᵒC and can bear up-to 10kA current.

Technical Features

  • Response time is ≤25ns.
  • Testing Standard is IEC 61643-21.
  • Fault indicator feature.
  • Remote signaling feature.

AC/DC surge protectors have DIN Rail mounting with fire-retardant housing material. These surge arrestors have various mounting options i.e., wall mounting, mounting on telecom MDF, plug-in on termination socket and fitting in connection strips. Two power source ac and dc with one single solution ac/dc surge arrestors.

Now for transmission and reception of high speed data signals have no worries about data loss due to interference in data cables. Serial port surge protectors provide protection from surges that  enters through some other device.
