When was ‘now’ created…?Posted by Amyn Dahya on February 19th, 2020 I was sitting by myself late one night watching Elton John’s 1974 Maddison Square Garden concert, listening to one of my favourite tunes, Funeral for a Friend. The band was in top form and I was in awe of how perfectly every note and beat was synchronised with such harmony. I suddenly felt a powerful surge of energy flow through my being, causing tears of joy to stream down my face…it was not the music. It was the sudden realisation, that this moment, which I was thoroughly enjoying, was created some forty-five years ago and placed in the universe to enable me to savour it at 2 a.m., in a country so far away, in a different era…I was overwhelmed by the sheer intelligence it had taken to craft this beautiful moment, with such precision. It was profoundly spiritual. My dear friends, I have learned from life that you are exactly where you need to be at every single moment. “The right place and right time is your constant reality…” This is what makes the present so powerful, because it was crafted for you a very long time ago; tens, hundreds or thousands of years ago. Imagine if your great grandmother and great grandfather were supposed to meet at a given place, and one of them did not make it because of some accidental reason, you would not exist today. This moment would not have arrived for you… Therefore, as we enter 2020, let us resolve to consciously recognise the power and timeless origin of each and every moment, and live it to its fullest, knowing that we are always exactly where we need to be, when we need to be, experiencing precisely what we are experiencing. Many of us perpetually look back, and wish we had made different choices. This is of little value, because if any one of your choices had materialised, you would cease to exist in this present moment. Therefore, let go of your worries, embrace life, and flow with the river of time, placing your trust in the future that lies ahead.
