Setup of AC1900

The setup of the Netgear wifi range extender using the Installation assistance is quite simple, however you can also go for the WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) method which just needs you to push one WPS button on the extender and router. Here are the steps for the web based setup –

1. Place your extender in the same room where the router is
2. Check your web browser if it is up to date
3. Your internet connection should be in working condition so check the status
4. Now plug your range extender to a wall outlet
5. Connect it with the laptop or desktop computer and see that the power LED is lit solid green
6. Now open a web browser and go to the address bar
7. Type the site address http://mywifiext.net and press enter
8. You will be shown the login page of the Netgear extender
9. Enter the default credentials that is username - admin and password – password
10. Press login and continue
11. You will be redirected to the setup page
12. Follow the instructions and prompts on the page to configure your extender’s settings
13. Save all the settings before going forward
14. Register your device and finish the mywifiext setup process

This is the web based setup of the wifi range extender using the installation assistant, you can see the steps for the WPS method below –

1. Power on the extender and see the solid green LED light up
2. Press and hold the WPS button on the extender for few seconds
3. Release the button and immediately press the WPS button on your router. It should be pressed within 2 minutes of press it on the extender
4. The extender and router will establish a connection and sync
5. When the extender is successfully configured then the LED on the extender will stop blinking which means it is setup now
6. Move the extender to the best location where it gets maximum wifi signals
