How to Shop for a Good Krawatte

Posted by AngeloEverton on June 30th, 2012

Men have the tendency to purchase ties which are pleasing to their eyes. When they go to shopping malls and boutiques, they get the ones that interest them without thinking for quite some time. However, they should know that krawatten should not be purchased just because they look great. People should purchase neckwear that will definitely work well with their suits. After all, ties come in various widths, lengths, colors, and pattern.  Clothes will definitely look more stunning with ties, but ties should match the clothing and not the other way around. Coordinating the krawatte with the rest of the suit is not a sort of a rocket science. Men simply need to know the basics when it comes to patterns, colors, and proportion.

If men want to purchase good ties, it is very ideal to consider the proportion of these things. The length and width of a tie should relate to a man’s body build and fashionable style. Large guys that wear large suits would definitely look great with lengthy krawatten. The ties should be long enough for the tip to reach the belt. On the other hand, small gentlemen should refrain from slender ties. Instead, they should go for short and wide ones.

When it comes to width, average guys which are neither big nor too small should purchase ties that are about three and a half inches wide. A person has the freedom to look for narrower or wider krawatte basing on his size. It would help if men could bring out measuring tapes when shopping.

Learning how to match colored ties with suits will take time. There is no general rule to which color works best for any outfit. Color coordination will depend a lot on a person’s sense of style. For a sophisticated look, it would be ideal to match green and blue ties with blue suits. A tip that men could try is to look for ties that have some colors which match their suits or shirts. For example, if a person is wearing a red long sleeved shirt, he could match a striped red and white krawatte with it.

Krawatten come in numerous patterns. In fact, patterned ties are more in number than the solid colored ones. However, matching ties that feature strong patterns is one of the hardest issues that men face. When wearing a patterned krawatte, the wearer should make sure that its colors do not clash with the suit. Another thing is that the patterns from the ties should be different from the patterns of the clothes. For example, if a person has a striped tie, it is not ideal to match it with a striped suit. Instead, the suit can be complimented with a polka dot tie or a boldly colored one. Too much patterns is not that pleasing to the eyes. Men should learn not to abuse the usage of their krawatten. Who would want to look at a person that wears badly matched outfits?

Just because men do not have skills in matching krawatten and suits does not mean that they have to depend on women for fashion tips. The tips above are very basic and they could greatly help a person who does not know which krawatte to wear.
