Sydney is Australia's largest city. It is the perfect destination 365 days a year with a moderate to warm climate. Sydney is a perfect gateway to other destinations in Australia, but it has so much to offer that it can be seen alone.

There is something for everyone in this area, from white sandy ocean beaches, natural reserves and fantastic food to an exciting attraction.

Until you fly the Sydney Airport as main port, you need to learn about Sydney approximately 9 km south of the center of Sydney. In Sydney's CBD (Central Station south of the CDB) the Overseas Cruise Terminal is located right in the city center near the Harbour Bridge.

The CBD is a rather small place in the greater Sydney area; luckily you can easily check out your Sydney Buckette List at all major tourist attractions.

It is safer to rely on public transport, for which you can pay with an Opal Card, to travel a bit further.

Sydney Bucket List When you're in Sydney for the first time, the following attractions and sights are important.

• Circular Quay: Commuter ferry harbor and place where cruise boats dock

• The Rocks: Very First settlement in Australia, built by white colonists and convicts; Sydney Harbor Bridge; iconic bridge connections the central business district with northern suburbs Sydney

• Chinatown: Asia-focused section of Southern CBD around Haymarket. Free access and plenty of scenic views, fascinating exotic plants and many places to relax. Lots of small restaurants, shops

• Darling Harbor: Entertainment City in Sydney, family friendly. Home to a wide range of world-renowned museums and attractions including the National Maritime Museum, Madame Tussauds and Wildlife World

• Queen Victoria Buildings: a historic CBD shopping Centre.

• Manly Beach: seaside suburbs in the north of Sydney and several sea beaches. With its high-end and luxurious shopping options

• The Iconic Australian Beach, popular for surfers, tourists, back-packers and also the nearest sea beach from CBD, is also reachable via Manly Ferry Bondi Beach
