In last few days around 730 cases of coronavirus were reported in UAE. This obviously created panis among the dwellers and travellers as well. On March 3 the Asian Cricket Council meeting is about to be held in Dubai which was supposed to be joined by the BCCI head. But now, due to the rise of the virus thread, Ganguly will not be attending the same. A BCCI source informed the same to media and told PTI, “Ganguly was supposed to leave tonight but coronavirus scare in the UAE has led to the postponement of the meeting.”

Ganguly declares venue for Asia Cup

One of the major agendas of the meeting was to finalize the venue of the upcoming Asia Cup. On Friday however, Sourav Ganguly mentioned that it would be organized in Dubai with both India and Pakistan participating in the tournament. Pakistan was the designated host for the same this year but the tensions between India and Pakistan made the whole thing doubtful.

Indian cricket board was sure of not sending the cricketers to Pakistan due to security concerns. The BCCI was okay to participate in the Asia Cup along with Pakistan but demanded for a neutral venue. This made the Asian Cricket Council take a final call on the venue.
