Visualization of tire performance Toyo tire sensing technology

TOYO TIRE ( Toyo Tire ) announced on February 7 that it has developed tire sensing technology to visualize tire performance while driving . Going forward, we will use open innovation to establish safer mobility support technologies and create new business models.

At a technology presentation held in Tokyo, Executive Officer Gaku Moriya stated that "CASE is a symbol of the automobile industry's transformation that is said to be once every 100 years, and tires are required to have high functionality." "In order to provide tire information to vehicles, users, management companies, and the like, it is necessary to make the tire function as a device that sucks up information."

This technology acquires information using an acceleration sensor attached to the tire and visualizes the estimated tire performance as "tire force". The gripping force of the tire and the margin (potential) of the tire are represented by points and circles, respectively, and displayed in real time.

For example, when the vehicle accelerates or turns during traveling, a point moves forward, backward, left, and right in a circle. When the point exceeds the circle, the tire is supposed to slip. On an ice road, the circle becomes smaller, and when the vehicle is decelerated or winter tires are installed, the size of the circle recovers.
