Tips and Tricks for False Eyelashes

If you’re a regular falsies user, then you are possibly a pro at keeping them in tip-top state and getting the most wear likely out of each pair. Though, for those of you that aren’t as familiar with maintaining the value of your favorite false lashes, we have nine useful tips and tricks on extending their life and ensuring they don’t lose their shape!

  1. At first, always be sure that your hands are washed thoroughly before handling false eyelashes to prevent the danger of infection, as it is essential not to get any bacteria in or around the eyes.
  2. Always use a lash applicator to very softly remove the false eyelashes from the tray, starting at the band in the outer corner, gradually peeling all the way along. Don’t pull away from the lash from the tips, as these tend to be much better, and they aren’t as durable as the lash band itself.
  3. Don’t apply too much glue, this will affect the band and how much use you get out of the real and false lashes, as it will be much harder to remove a thick layer of adhesive, in comparison to a thin, consistently spread layer.
  4. Always put on your lashes after you have applied your eye and face makeup. Getting eyeliner, eye shadow, and other makeup on the lashes means that you may not be able to use them again.
  5. Don’t apply mascara straight to the false eyelashes, this will not only change their look, but it will harm their shape and worth. If you want to apply mascara as well as false eyelashes, then we advise applying a thin layer to your natural lashes before applying the falsies.
  6. When removing your strip lashes, we advise using the same early method of removing the lashes with an applicator as you would remove them from the dish. Begin at the external edge again, and carefully peel the eyelash away from the eye, being careful of the skin and making sure to draw from the band and not the lash tips.
  7. Once you have cautiously removed the lashes, the next step is eliminating extra glue from the lash band as likely. The great way to complete this step is to grip the lash with an applicator in one hand and use tweezers on the other hand for controlled, care, and very cautiously pick/peel away the dried layer of adhesive.
  8. Cleaning the lash band is necessary for those that use their lashes again quite frequently as it eliminates any potential build-up of germs, as well as any makeup remains. We advise using a gentle, eye makeup remover that is appropriate for sensitive skin. Pour a little amount onto the tip of a cotton bud and gently wipe the cotton bud along with the lash band.
  9. One of the final but most essential steps in taking care of your lashes is finding a secure and handy place to store them. You can pop them back into the box you received them in. Though, some lash boxes are only made out of plastic, so they aren’t that protecting.
