The way India lost two-match Test series against New Zealand it attracted huge criticism. Indian team is being criticised for not being able to deliver up to the expectations. VVS Laxman, former Indian batsman took a dig on Men in Blue as well and said they lacked discipline in the longer format.

Laxman congratulates Kiwis

On Monday, two half-centuries from openers Tom Latham and Tom Blundell led New Zealand to an easy win by seven wickets over the visitors at Christchurch's Hagley Oval. The hosts had also won the first Test by 10 wickets in Wellington. Speaking about the same Laxman took to Twitter to congratulate the Kiwis and did not to forget to mention the drawbacks of Indian side.

“Many congratulations to the Black Caps on beating India and winning the Test series comprehensively. India couldn't show the discipline required to stick it out and will be deeply disappointed.”

Laxman on Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah

Laxman especially spoke about the captain’s failure as a batsman along with the off form of Jasprit Bumrah. He said in an interaction with Star Sports, “The biggest talking point on this tour right from the one-day series to these two Test matches has been the form of two very important players -- Virat Kohli in the batting department and Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling department.”

Kohli could manage to scored only 38 runs in four Test innings with a highest score being 19. This was also his first Test series whitewash as captain. He has been going through a tough phase for quite a long and it was visible in the limited-overs format as well. The skipper managed 218 runs in 11 innings on this tour with 51 being his highest score.

Laxman gave his insight on the same and said, “Virat Kohli's form has definitely been the biggest letdown for the Indian team because when your top batsman, probably the best in the world, averages 9 (9.50 to be precise) in the two Test matches, I think it is going to be tough for the visiting side. They didn't show any fight in the Tests.”
