4 Ways decrease screen time among kidsPosted by Suzzane brena on March 5th, 2020 If you are a mom like me who struggles to keep those smart phones out of the reach of your children, then I guess this will be helpful. While many parents have identified the issues, many are struggling to keep those screens away from children. Here’s some of my personal favourite that I have applied to keep my child engaged. The best part of these alternatives will boost the overall mental and physical well-being of the children. 2. Out Door Play Time – Increase the outdoor play time. Join yourself as family if you need to be. Let them play in the muddy puddles or go for those water pools. Hop in with them and splash some water. You got to be imaginative and creative just like those little people. I occasionally host some picnic time for my toddlers and young kids and their friends. It’s may become bit messy at times but hey, at the end you get to inspire other parents who follows the suit and you considerably limits their screen time. 3. Enrol Them to Hobby Classes- One of my favourite tip. I have enrolled my little ones to painting classes. It not only engages them for a day but 2 hours each day. Bonus points they really can pick it up at later stage. It also encourages cognitive abilities and social building among young kids. There are so many options to try like dance classes, pottery, singing or craft making anything as long as they enjoy it. Never push them to it, just let them explore. 4. Try Sport Clubs – This is fun, challenging and absolutely fun place that your kids will love. Fortunately, we stay at Sydney in Australia as a result there’s so much option of rock climbing here. I still remember the look in her face when I took her to this popular indoor rock climbing gym here . She never misses the rock climbing training sessions at Climb Fit and it has also enhanced her focus and stamina. Similarly, there are so many outdoor sports you can try like soccer, swimming, basketball etc. Not only adventure sports , if your kid is into some strategic indoor games like chess let them pursue it. Just let them pick up their choice of sports and you will see how less they are logging in. At the end, they are just kids who needs "engagement" , "love" and "care" . With these three components at place, you can surely make their life more enriching and healthy. Like it? Share it! |
