Can anyone go to Umrah without package from the UK?

Umrah is a spiritual journey that is undertaken by many Muslims in the Sunnah of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). The minor pilgrimage rewards Muslims with many benefits. Let it be social, financial, health-related, even umrah will reward in the afterworld. That’s why Muslims never delay booking 4 star umrah packages or whatever is convenient, whenever they easily can. The best thing about the lesser pilgrimage is that it offers the flexibility of time; can be performed at any time of the year. Therefore, offering you multiple chances to reserve your umrah travel trip.

When going for Umrah, you can either go by yourself or book your package from a registered travel agent. While Do-It-Yourself Umrah is becoming quite popular, the question of getting an Umrah visa still remains. Even if you’ve made all the accommodation, flights, transportation and travel management by yourself, you are legally required to obtain a Umrah visa through a credible travel agency. One that remains affiliated and recognized with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Here’s everything you need to know about the issuance of the Umrah visa.

Fee.

Umrah visas are now issued against a total fee of 330 SAR exclusive of some additional taxes. Thus, you can expect to spend 300-350 GBP per person, including children.

Validity.

Umrah visa remains originally issued for a total of 2 weeks, while the validity is of 30 days.
The extra 15 days are given to compensate for any flight delays/cancelations and accommodation inconveniences. In short, you have to depart on the 15th day from your arrival in Saudia Arabia.

Requirements.

• A Duly filled visa application form.
• Passport size coloured photographs.
• Medical/Vaccination Certificate.
• Proof of non-refundable return flight ticket.
• Pre-accommodation validation.
• 6-7-month validity of passport at least.

Umrah on Tourist Visa.

As part of Saudi Vision 2030, the policies for the performance of Hajj and Umrah also observed a revision in late 2019. As per the new rules, Muslims can now perform umrah even on their tourist visas. A tourist visa can be attained by a 5-30 minute on-arrival procedure or also through e-visa services.

The compulsion of Mahram?

After the revision of Umrah policies previously, the compulsion of a mahram for a woman was lifted. Now, women can travel alone for umrah and perform holy rituals. There’s no need for a mahram to be accompanied.

To sum it up, a person can go for umrah alone; without an umrah package. Provided that he/she has made all the flight reservations, accommodation bookings, and transportation management there, beforehand. To obtain an Umrah visa only, it can turn to any umrah travel agent; pay the fee; submit the documents and have the visa validated.

Yet, the best way is to go through the channel of a reliable travel agency. Especially during the crowded times i.e. Ramadan packages UK. As the agent takes care of all your travel needs. From the visa procedure to your return back home, everything remains secured and insured.
