With spring right around the corner and summer coming close searching for that perfect cocktail to cool you off can be mind-boggling. With so many cocktails storming the Internet many people can get mixed up if they are not familiar with them. The most popular types of cocktails around are rum, gin, tequila, vodka, whiskey, beer, and wine cocktails. Some of these can be served on ice and some in the form of a cool slush. It really depends on the preference of the person drinking the cocktail.

Rum cocktails are one of the many favorites that people go to. The rum that is added into these cocktails gives it the island feel. When people have a rum cocktail their thinking beaches, Hawaii, pretty much anything magical and an escape from reality. Some of the rum cocktails are Mojito, Strawberry Daiquiri, and Piña Colada. These are just to name a few of the most popular ones that are requested. The May Quito is a mint rum cocktail that is generally served on ice with freshman's in it. The strawberry daiquiri is more of a/form cocktail. It is blended generally with a blender or mixer and served up at times with sugar around the rim and fresh strawberries. Generally, it's put in a very large glass. Not only has the Beer Margarita made in an impact but the Strawberry Margaritas are still in full effect. A Strawberry Margarita is a strawberry mixture with tequila that is frozen and is generally served with sugar and fresh strawberries on the edge of the margarita glass. Here in Texas Margaritas are one of the most popular cocktails to have.

Vodka in a cocktail sometimes is not noticed. The common vodka cocktails are a Lemon Drop, Red Rooster, and a Vodka Collins. When using vodka it can either be a sweet drink or a more bland drink. It really depends on the preference of the person drinking the cocktail. These types of cocktails are best served on ice and in the afternoons generally.

Whiskey cocktails are more of a dark cocktail. The whiskey itself is generally a darker whiskey than the clear liquid of vodka or tequila. Some of the popular whiskey cocktails are a True Manhattan, Bourbon Slush, and the Red Snapper. These are also generally obtained at night or in the late evening after dinner.

Beer and wine cocktails or something that you really don't hear much of. Here in Texas generally it is a beer that is drink not a beer and wine product. Some common beer and wine cocktails are White Peach Sangria, Summer Beer, and Champagne Peach Punch. These are refreshing cocktails that offer a little bubbly to your taste buds.
