Fear Sees Stumbling Blocks, Never Stepping Stones

We live in a world that does not care about our feelings or emotions. The world we live in is not ready to play fair with us. There will be times when life will throw us some curve balls and stepping over them will depend on whether we sit around angry at life and afraid to go on, or whether we find a solution to the problem, dispersing all fears and reposing our confidence on the ONE who is able to make us climb over the mountain before us or calm the storms of our life, so that at the end we will come out triumphant and the song that we will come to our lips will be

                                “Alleluya for the GOD ALMIGHTY reigns

                                Worthy is the lamb that was slain”

TRUST IN THE LORD

One thing that has always make us worry about life and the next step to take in life, but then, as believers should we worry or be afraid of the unknown? Really, things go wrong as they sometimes will. There will be times when the funds are so low and our creditors are too much knocking on our door. There will; be times when we want to laugh, but what shows across our face is a sigh because of the heavy burden on our shoulders. We should never be afraid or worry when such situations arises, for GOD has already told us to cast our burdens and worries upon HIM.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the LORD in everything you do, and HE will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the LORD and refuse to do wrong. If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains”

                                                                                                Proverbs 3: 5 --- 8

Trust in the LORD and disperse off any fear in you because;

Fear will make you worry, never happy

Fear will make you crooked, never straight

Fear will make you do wrong, never right

Fear sees obstacles, never opportunities

Fear sees problems, never possibilities

Fear sees stumbling blocks, never stepping stones

Fear will make you fall, never standing

When you are afraid, you will come short of GOD’S grace in your life but, if we allow GOD’S Spirit to control us, then we are HIS sons. For the Spirit that GOD has given us dies not make us slaves and cause us to be afraid; instead the Spirit makes us GOD’S children, and by the Spirit’s power, we cry out to GOD, saying “father! My father!”. As a mother hen protects her chicks from the predators, much more will our heavenly father do for us. He will never suffer the righteous to be move. Call on HIM and HE will save you.

H.G SPAFFORD

When H.G Spafford lost all his wealth in a fire and family in a shipwreck, he went back to that spot where the ship capsized, and dispersing all fears and worry, happy not because his family had died, but because he believed that they were in heaven waiting for him to join them in the bosom of the ALMIGHTY, he penned down this hymn;

                                                When peace like river attended my way,

                                                When sorrows like sea billows roll;

                                                Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to know,

                                                It is well, it is well with my soul

                                                It is well….it is well,…..

                                                It is well, it is well with my soul

THE SHUNAMMITE WOMAN

“When the child had grown, he went out one day to his father among the reapers. And he said to his father, “oh my head, my head!” the father said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.” And when he had lifted him and brought him to his mother, the child sat on her lap till noon, and then he died. And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of GOD, and shut the door upon him, and went out”

                                                                                                2 Kings 4 : 18 ---21

“And he said, why will you go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath.” She said, “it is well.”

                                                                                                2 Kings 4 : 23

“When the man of GOD saw her coming, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Look, yonder is the Shunammite, run at once to meet her, and say to her, is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child??” and she answered, “It is well.”

                                                                                                2 Kings 4 :

The Shunammite woman had only one child, a child she conceived when she has lost all hope of giving birth through the prayer of Prophet Elisha and yet the child died. Imagine the kind of sorrow, the kind of grief, the kind of pain that would have envelope the mind and body of this woman and yet, when asked about the well being of the child, with so much faith and confidence she said, “It is well”, because she believed that the LORD who gave her the only child will bring him back to life through HIS prophet.

DANIEL

When Daniel was cast into a den of lions for his faith in GOD, he never worried, he never feared. He prayed to GOD who sent down an angel to shut the lion’s mouths.

“Then, at break of the day, the king arose and went in haste to the den of lions. When he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish and said to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the LIVING GOD, has your GOD, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”

Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My GOD sent HIS angel and shut the lions mouths, and they have not hurt me, because I was found blameless before HIM; and also before you O king, I have done no wrong.”

                                                                                Daniel 6 : 19 --22

BE HAPPY

Are things not going the way you planned? Don’t worry, be happy

Is care pressing you down? Don’t worry, be happy

Is life taking its toll on you? Don’t worry, be happy

Are funds low and debts high? Don’t worry, be happy

Does the road you’re trudging seem like an uphill? Don’t worry, be happy

Are those who you think would help turning their backs on you? Don’t worry, be happy

Why?

Because we are blessed but not curse, persecuted not abandon, struck down but not destroyed.

Because we are blessed beyond any curse, through HIM whose promises will endure, and HIS joy is our strength . Though sorrow might last for a night, joy will surely come in the morning.
