Courier services have become the backbone of global communication. It is now an easy task to send parcels across any part of the world and connect to individuals and businesses. Problems may interfere the consignment journey, which inadvertently lead to delay of the delivery.

The major problem faced by a courier company is related to the packing mistakes. You might not be aware of the right way to pack a parcel to India. Read the write-up to know more about the packing mistakes a sender makes.

What Should You Do to Avoid the Common Packing Mistakes?

Incorrect packaging is the prime cause behind delay in parcel delivery to India. The culprits are:

  • Weak packaging box

  • Unreadable labelling

  • Improper Sealing

Weak boxes pose greater risk to damage of goods packed within the parcel box. As a sender use a strong and good quality box to ensure that your parcel does not get damaged in the transit. Use the right size and pack in the item. It is better to choose a box which is slightly larger than the item. Leave no gap and fill up the extra space to protective packaging material, such as wadded paper, packing peanuts and air cushions. Do not make the mistake of over packing.

Parcel should have a legible labelling. The parcel label should contain details of the product and personal information of the sender and the recipient. It is safe to put a backup label in the box. This inside label comes handy in case the labelling gets torn or damaged.

Sealing of the box is an important part of the process. Use the H-shaped taping method to ensure each seam of the box remains sealed. This will protect the seams from any kind of damage.

Please note if you are using a recycled box for sending a parcel to India remove leftover labels placed for previous parcel consignments.
