How Can Coronavirus Novels Spread Fast on Cruise?

The Diamond Princess cruise ship is now being quarantined in the territorial waters of Yokohama, Japan, following the discovery of passengers infected with a coronavirus novel. The ship is planned to be quarantined for 14 days to prevent the virus from spreading widely, starting from Wednesday (5/2) to Saturday (25/2).

The coronavirus novel is a virus that spreads quickly. In closed environments such as patient rooms, planes, or cruise ships, the transmission of the 2019-nCoV coded virus can be even faster. So, what is the current condition of Diamond Princess cruise ship passengers after the discovery of the coronavirus novel case?

The emergence of a coronavirus novel on a cruise ship

The Diamond Princess cruise ship is planned to bring 3,711 passengers and crew to Japan, before finally being quarantined once it enters the country's waters. Quarantine begins with the discovery of passengers infected with a coronavirus novel.

The first person confirmed was an 80-year-old passenger from Hong Kong. The passenger experienced symptoms of a novel coronavirus infection and showed positive results after undergoing the examination.

Japanese health authorities then ordered tests on nine other passengers on the cruise ship suspected of having symptoms of a coronavirus novel infection. Thus, the passengers who underwent the initial test were ten people.

However, this step is considered ineffective because the Japanese health authority only checks passengers who show symptoms. Other passengers who do not show any symptoms do not undergo examination.

In fact, there is a possibility that other passengers on the cruise ship have been infected with a coronavirus novel without showing symptoms. Transmission may occur undetected because coronavirus novels are the same as viruses in general which have an incubation period.

The incubation period is the period of time between infection of the germ of the disease until the appearance of the first symptoms. Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the incubation period for the coronavirus is likely to range from 2-14 days.

During the incubation period, cruise ship passengers who have contracted the coronavirus novel can only transmit the infection to others without even knowing it. This was conveyed by the Chinese Minister of Health some time ago. He urged all parties to be more vigilant because this virus might be transmitted without symptoms.https://www.studybahasainggris.com/contoh-mp3-listening-section-bahasa-inggris-teksnya-dan-kunci-jawaban/

Not long after the emergence of a coronavirus novel on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, the Japanese Minister of Health, Katsunobu Kato, made further statements. Kato plans to mobilize health authorities to conduct inspections of all 3,711 people aboard the ship.
