The SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) company is the statutory body formed in Malaysia to regulate companies and businesses that are legally registered and operating in Malaysia. The SSM is known in English as the Companies Commission of Malaysia, and this governing body was formed as result of a merger between the Registrar of Companies (ROC) and the Registrar of Businesses (ROB).

There are thousands of businesses that are registered in Malaysia today and the number just keep growing. The SSM Company Search & How It Works

Thankfully, the process of searching for companies has been made a little easier, thanks to the SSM’s e-Info web services. This is a web based services that provides users with the option to search for and purchase a company and business information online as an alternative to having to do it manually over the counter.

The e-info service makes the SSM company name search process accessible to everyone, so long as they have internet connectivity at hand. The service is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Among the information that is provided by the e-info search include:

  • Corporate information
  • Profit and loss account
  • Company financial statements
  • The summary of the company’s share capital
  • The Directors and officers of the company
  • Shareholders and members of the company
  • Company charges
  • Business information
  • Information on the current business owner
  • The nature of the business

To access the information, the user would have to log in or register as an e-Account member with the SSM if they want to conduct a company or business search. Users will be required to pay a fee of RM5.00 on top of the current fees which are imposed by the SSM to have this information available via the counter. Payment can be made by the user via prepaid, MEPSCASH, credit card and internet banking services. The fees charged by SSM are RM10, which will go to the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
