When transporting large and/or multiple industrial loads, it is important to use load restraint products to ensure they remain secure. Used to hold down big equipment, keep things from shifting and lock things in place, load restraints are an industry standard in a number of work settings, including equipment manufacturers and suppliers, freight consigners, vehicle manufacturers and drivers of trucks and box trailers. By employing this equipment, you can preserve the safety of yourself, your passengers, your products and other road users (including pedestrians).

We have included below 5 load restraint products that are must-haves if you consistently transport industrial goods. Please note that all grade 70 load restraint equipment should not be used for lifting purposes.

Ratchet Tie Down Straps

Ratchet tie downs like our Ratchet Tie Downs – RATCHET – GLR255 – 25mm x 5m are especially great for securing loads in cars, trailers, trucks and various other vehicles. These load restraint straps have a ratchet mechanism that tightens the strap each time you open and close the lever. They are also easy to tighten, have black ‘S’ hooks at each end and hold really well. Additionally, they comply with Australian Standards AS4380, and are available in lengths between 5m and 9m and lashing capacities between 500kg and 5000kg.

Besides ratchet straps, we also supply our Cam Buckle Tie Downs – GLCS252 – Ratchet – Pack of 48, which utilise a cam mechanism with teeth that tightly secures the strap and enables it to be tightened without slipping out. Also complying with Australian Standards AS4380, these cam buckle straps are 2m in length and 250kg in lashing capacity.

Cargo Bars

In order to stop loads from shifting, falling or receiving damage during transit, consider using industrial cargo bars. Products like our Aluminium Cargo Bar – ASD10 have one-piece aluminium tubing with articulating footpads, and are perfect for use between walls, floors and rooves in vehicles. When pushed against a load, these cargo bars can extend up to 261cm and lock in place to suit and secure it. It is usually best to use these in combination with other cargo bars for the best results.

Furthermore, our Steel Cargo Bar – ASD20 has a 38mm two-piece square steel tubing with articulating rubber foot pads and is ideal for use in environments with wet or freezing conditions. It is foldable ensuring you can easily store it in trailer cabs, and its mechanical ratchet operation prevents it from slipping or vibrating loose. This steel cargo bar has a range between 220cm and 292cm.

Loadbinders

Loadbinders are used to tighten chains when securing loads for transport. These chain tensioning devices help reduce unnecessary strain and provide a controlled and safe load binding solution. With both lever style loadbinders and ratchet style loadbinders available in varying sizes (6mm, 7/8mm and 10mm; and 6mm, 7/8mm, 10mm and 13mm respectively), your load rest binding needs are covered. Lever loadbinders are simple to install, are relatively quick to secure and release and have fewer moving parts entailing less maintenance. On the other hand, ratchet loadbinders require less exertion to apply tension on the handle and enable slower and steadier loading. Moreover, each loadbinder regardless of style has winged hooks, a dropped forged steel construction and compliance with Australian Standards AS4344.

Transport Chains and Restraint Kits

Transport chains conveniently secure items with ease, and are supplied in sizes of 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 13mm. As they follow Australian Standards AS 4344, they are designed to be durable and reliable. We additionally supply Restraint Kits, which comes with a Grange Lift Load restraint chain and is equipped in a handy reusable carry box. With winged grab hooks each end and gold zinc plated designs, these load restraint kits offer a convenient way to carry load restraint products.

Grade 70 Gear

In addition to cargo straps, load restraint chains and the other products listed, we also supply Grade 70 Gear in the form of grab hooks, slip hooks and lug links. For example, our Grade 70 Clevis Grab Hook – Component Size – 13mm complies with Australian Standards AS4344 and has a lashing capacity of 9000kg. It is also winged and gold zinc plated.

All these load restraint products are designed to make load securing in industrial environments easier and safer. Check out Equip2Go for our full range of load restraint equipment.
