What are Corona viruses?

Corona viruses are a family of viruses (Zoonotic diseases) that includes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). The research says that outbreak of respiratory illness is now called COVID-19, is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans and it evolved from Wuhan city of China in December 2019.

Corona viruses acts as an infectious disease which shows common symptoms of cold to life-threatening disease caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites that spread from animals (usually vertebrates) to human being. Detailed investigation on this deadly disease revealed that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to human.

Symptoms

Common signs of infection include -

Dry cough, throat dryness, severe fever, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing. In severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and finally even to death.

Do’s and Dont’s

You Wash your hand frequently for at least 20 seconds and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available

You Cover your nose and mouth while you cough and sneeze

You Throw the used tissue in the trash

You Clean and disinfect the surfaces and objects that people frequently use or touch.

You Use quality and protective masks

You Avoid Street Foods and Restaurant Foods

You Thoroughly Cook Meat and Eggs.

You Consume immunity building foods

You Avoid close contact with anyone who shows symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

You Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

You Stay at home when you are sick.
