After renovating the house, we welcome our guest with a more open heart and want to make them feel comfortable so they can admire the beauty of the house.  While renovating the place, people focus more on the rooms and kitchen than bathrooms. However, by bathroom remodeling, you can add more value to your home, and reflect your personal style.

Here are a few tips to help you with bathroom remodeling project:

Know Your Bathroom Layout

There is always confusion with regard to the layout of the bathroom; most people prefer their bathroom to blend well with the rest of the house, while few prefer their bathroom to be contrasted with the home. If the bathroom is connected with the master bedroom then it is preferable to blend the design as the bathroom feels like the extension of the room, making your room looking more grandeur. While remodeling your bathroom, you should know how you will use the space. It all depends on your lifestyle. But remember, layout option becomes limited when you rely on existing plumbing, drains, ventilation.

Floor Designs

Before selecting the design, make sure that you need a floor than can handle anything. And wooden flooring is highly reliable as it is durable, stands up to anything and is easy to clean. But it is up to you to choose the bathroom flooring, if you are having doubt then think how it will perform under the stress, as in the bathroom, where water is everywhere the moisture ruins the wrong flooring.

Preferred Flooring Options:

  • Porcelain or Ceramic tiles: These are waterproof tiles and have a rich, textured and strong feeling. Even with these features, these tiles are inexpensive.
  • Vinyl Flooring: If you are expecting excessive water on your floor then vinyl flooring is the best and it has been a popular choice for decades.
  • Engineered Wood: These floorings have a plywood base that holds up against moisture. However, because of their hardness, these floorings are more prone to damage.

Ventilation

While remodeling the bathroom, many people neglect the aspect of ventilation. A bathroom that is not properly ventilated can cause various problems, such as the build-up of mildew.  Some of the bathrooms already have windows, which is a great source of ventilation. In absence of window, you can add an exhaust fan or a ceiling exhaust fan which can throw out the musty air outside.

Lighting Design

The lighting design adds more value to the bathroom design, especially in the absence of light (24x7). Having proper lighting in your bathroom makes it look more spacious, just like any mirror does. Remember not to add to excessive bright or dim light which can affect your eyesight and even make your bathroom look dull.

Go Green

It is best to have an eco-friendly approach, as bathroom is the place where water gets drained the most.  Low flow toilets, shower heads not only help you conserve water but also save the money draining from your pocket.

While planning bathroomremodeling in Florida, remember to make it more efficient, functional and stylish; even consider the small details that you want as it makes a huge impact after the bathroom is remodelled.
