How to Turn Supplements Into Yummy Food

Posted by amazingviralnews on March 19th, 2020

Taking supplements has become the norm for many, incorporating them into our daily lives for better health and wellness. Some people have to take supplements because of medical issues. Others choose to ingest them to support weight loss or gain, muscle building, and many other personal health goals.

We take supplements to either implement something that’s missing from our diet, to balance out what our bodies are lacking because of health implications, or to give our bodies a boost during times of stress, such as high energy exercise.

There is a multitude of supplements and medical foods prescribed, and to buy over the counter. They boast an array of health benefits, some are more beneficial than others and taking any supplement should be something you consider seriously before you go ahead. If you’re unsure, then it’s always best to speak to your physician about the potential benefits and side effects of ingesting supplements.

Taking supplements and medical foods for whatever reason doesn’t have to be a chore. There are many fun and tasty ways in which you can include them into your diet from home. Let's explore these further.

Smoothies

Smoothies are always the supplement takers go-to choice. They are quick and easy to put together and can be consumed throughout the day with your favorite protein powder in, for example.

Protein powders now come in a multitude of flavors to jazz up your smoothie so even if you haven't got a stockpile of fruit on hand their flavor alone should make for a yummy before work treat or afternoon snack.

Smoothies are also another excellent choice because you can tailor them to your specific tastes and needs. They give you the opportunity to pack your drink full of other superfoods beneficial for health and wellness.

All you need at home to make a protein-packed smoothie is a blender or shaker.

Homemade Jams

For the more crafty home cook, you can add supplements into homemade jams. If you aren't a keen jam maker or lacking in the time then mixing your supplements or medical foods in powder or gel form into a store-bought jam will do the trick.

Jams jammed with a supplement are a great way to start the day on a piece of toast, and you may even be able to get your children to like taking their daily dose disguised in strawberry jam spread across a piece of toast.

Pancakes and Waffles

Another great way to get your daily intake is by cooking up your supplements, as long as they aren’t reactive to heat, in a pancake or waffle batter. Again, any powered supplement would work a treat, especially if you can buy it in different flavors.

A yummy chocolate pancake or strawberry waffle to start you off for the day is the perfect way to take your supplement without even realizing it.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is another tasty option to satisfy hungry tummies. With oatmeal, you can choose to mix your powdered supplement or medical food into the milk or sprinkle it on top of the oats if you like the flavor.

Oatmeal is a great batch option as you can make overnight oats to feed the entire family. Remember to always follow the guidelines given on the packaging for the correct dosage. Make sure you always weigh out your supplements for each family member and yourself in accordance with the guide.

Muffins

Baking muffins is always fun and an experience for adults and children alike. This is an excellent way for you to include supplements into yours and your children's diet for little resistance!

Muffins are also the perfect choice to keep measurements in check. You can bake muffins specifically weighed out to give you the correct dosage in each.

Mashed Potatoes

The beloved simple to cook up comfort food, mashed potato is a great disguise for powdered and gel form supplements and medical foods such as Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA).

Often with newer medical grade foods such as PEA, there are select options for you to try so make sure any that you do purchase are from NSF & CGMP certified and FDA controlled facilities in the US, for example.

Enjoy!

Don't make taking supplements and medical foods a hassle and a bore. When possible, add them to your food for yummy and mouth-watering treats and snacks that you can't get enough of.

For children or fussy eaters, this is a great way to disguise what they might think is inedible and encouraging them to help you cook up a supplement storm will help educate them while taking away the fear of consuming supplements.

There’s a vast amount of recipes available to you on the internet, so get creative and remember to always seek the advice of your physician if you have any concerns.
