Raj Green Sandstone vs Raj Blend Sandstone

Raj Green Sandstone Paving

Definitely, Raj blend sandstone is cheaper than Raj green sandstone

The term "Raj Green sandstone" represents sandstone that is quarried from quarries in Middle India, the colour tone is not mono-block but rather comprises of a relatively narrow band of colour; from a light to medium green with a tinge of grey running through, the narrow range of colour is selected as Raj Green sandstone. Because there is a finer degree of selection and colours that fall outside this normal range and kept tone side the price point for "pure" Raj Green is generally higher.

Raj Blend Sandstone Paving

By contrast, Raj Blend sandstone has less selection and includes the colour range that would be de-selected for Raj Green. This results in Raj Blend providing a much wider range of colour that includes, of course, the traditional Raj Green with additional colour elements like Autumn Brown and Rippon Buff. As less sorting of the stone is required this corresponds to a lower price and therefore Raj Blend is generally less costly than Raj Green in direct comparison.

Quality

The quality is the same for both variants – i.e. in terms of consistency of size, depth, packing etc. The lower price of the Raj Blend is simply the result of saving of time for sorting of colours at the quarry. Therefore if a customer prefers the greater spectrum of colour in the Raj Blend they should not be concerned that this is lower quality. Equally, if a customer prefers the relatively narrower band of the colour of the Raj Green this is not a higher quality but simply the result of a greater degree of sorting that has had to be undertaken.

Samples

It is likely that a sample of Raj Green sandstone and Raj Blend sandstone could look very similar – as explained above. Therefore please use this as a gauge of colour and look at the pictures we have provided on our website for further reference to the overall colour for each respective product. It will not be possible to fully make this determination simply from the sample.

The most popular sandstone paving colour is grey colour, such as grey sandstone 900x600, and grey sandstone patio packs. Both are attractive paving slabs for garden patios.
