Every parent wants their kids to grow strong and healthy, and they would do everything they can just so that their little children would take a bite of that broccoli. But we all know that it's not easy for them to just instantly like vegetables, so as a parent what can you do so that they would get the right nutrients that they need at their age. Here are some tips for you that you can incorporate into your everyday meal.

  • Introduce vegetable-based snacks

Introducing vegetable-based snacks would make them feel more familiar with the taste of vegetables without it being overly bearing for the kids. Vegetables are versatile enough and there are a lot of healthy vegetable recipes out there that you can make.

  • Show your kids that you enjoy vegetables

A lot of kids want to imitate their parents or what grown-ups do. If you show them that you genuinely enjoy eating vegetables, chances are they would too. This would not only benefit your kid but also yourself since you would be eating healthy every day.

  • Don’t force them to eat vegetables

Forcing kids to eat vegetables would only turn them off. They would most likely hate the food instead of liking it. Introduce it slowly, it takes time for some kids to like them but it's worth your effort.

  • Use positive reinforcement when introducing vegetables in their diet

A compliment goes a long way with kids. If you praise them for eating vegetables, they would only want more. Giving positive reinforcement is much better than forcing them to do everything.

  • Watch what you put into your cart when you’re shopping for groceries

Most of the time when we are going to the grocery, the kids would just put snacks after snacks in the cart. That is what you should definitely avoid. Removing the presence of unhealthy snacks will give you a much better time when you are introducing healthy food with them. In accordance with this, get more greens and fruits when you are going out, you should be their role model in terms of eating healthy.

  • Be creative in how you cook and present the vegetable-based dishes

The presentation can also impact how your kid will like the food that you give them. In Japan, a lot of mothers put a lot of effort into every bento box that they give to their child whenever they are going to school. You can always look up online on how to make these things, it doesn't have to be overly complicated.

  • Use aromas and colors to your advantage to make the dish more attractive for your kids

This works for both grown-ups and kids alike. If your food smells great you would most definitely want to eat it. As they say, a great portion of the taste is dependent on how your food smells like.

There are a lot of creative ways on how you can get your kids to eat healthily. Don't force them too much into whatever you want, remember that everything is a learning process and it takes time. Keep in mind that it will all be worth it in the end.
