Teens who have taken the course are 64 percent less an auto accident

For the first time ever, the free national teen defensive driving program B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) will visit Grand Haven, with sessions at Shape Corp. on the weekend of April 18-19.

Presented by Shape Corp. and GHSP, the program will run from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Teens can register for the free classes at: putonthebrakes.org

Former drag racing champion Doug Herbert established B.R.A.K.E.S. after tragically losing his two sons in a car crash in 2008.  To date, the program has trained more than 40,000 teens across the country.

Teens who have taken the course are 64 percent less likely to get into an auto accident.

Much more information is detailed in our media advisory below. In addition:

  • This short video tells the story of Doug’s tragedy and the impetus behind the establishment of B.R.A.K.E.S.:

I welcome the opportunity to arrange an interview with Doug, as well as executives from Shape Corp. and GHSP.

With thanks,
