Shifting to another country won’t be a problem to an unmarried person. However, if you are married, you should consider taking your partner along with you while shifting to another country either permanently or temporarily. First, you should apply the visa to bring your partner to where you are living. If you are living in the United Kingdom and want to bring your partner to the UK, you should apply the UK partner visa.

The partner visa is granted for the person that has relationship with the person who is present and settled in UK. The point is that, you need to fulfill the requirements for getting the partner visa. You and your partner have to prove that you both have sufficient funds to support yourself all through the period you are in UK.  The requirements of the UK partner visa include:

  • You should show the proof that you and your partner have enough money to support yourself without demanding or expecting public or government funds
  • A suitable accommodation is needed for you and your partner
  • You need to disclose the duration of your stay. The duration of the partner visa is 2 years. If you want to stay for more than 2 years, then you can apply for the ILR visa.
  • You should have good travel history
  • You should possess excellent knowledge in English

The processing time of the visa may vary depending on the type of visa you are applying for. It will take two to three weeks to get a partner visa and sometimes, take more time if an individual’s visa application is not approved in the first attempt or under review. This is why you are asked to hire the visa agency to help you throughout the process of the visa application and approval. Below, you will find answers to some questions or concerns that you may have:
