3 Skincare Basics Everyone Needs in Their Daily Routine

Posted by Juice Beauty on March 26th, 2020

We’ve all had that moment when we look at our bathroom counter, crowded with skincare products and cosmetics, and think, “Do I really need all this?” The answer, of course, depends entirely on you. Some of us love to use a whole suite of products designed to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, prime, and brighten. Others, though, just want the basics, whatever they need to do to take care of their skin quickly and efficiently before heading out the door. Whichever camp you fall into, there are three products everyone should have in their arsenal.

Essential #1: Cleanser

Everyone knows that a quality cleanser is the most important part of any skincare routine. Some of the best options out there work to remove impurities while promoting hydrated, glowing skin. For an extra boost of benefits, opt for something like an organic face cleanser. A facial wash that’s loaded with nutrient- and moisture-rich ingredients naturally derived from fruits and botanicals is going to give you a better chance of easily achieving radiant, healthier-looking skin. If you have more focused concerns, like blemishes, consider products that contain salicylic acid. A cleansing milk is a great option if your skin is more prone to dryness or sensitivity—it’s a gentler formula that still offers a deep clean.

Essential #2: Moisturizer

Even if your skin tends toward the oily side of the spectrum, you should still be incorporating a moisturizer into your routine. One of the best options is a moisturizer with SPF—it’s beneficial for all skin types. Sun exposure can be particularly harsh on the delicate skin of your face, so using a product that helps protect against UVA and UVB rays is key. There are options out there that incorporate skin concerns outside of needing an SPF, like non-comedogenic or oil-free formulas for oily skin, as well as those with ultra-hydrating ingredients like aloe and cucumber extracts for dry skin. Whichever product you decide on, be sure it has an element that helps protect you from exposure to the sun.

Essential #3: Primer

Whether you prefer to use cosmetics or you tend more toward a bare face, an illuminating primer can help boost the look of both. Some of the best primers are those that work to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while brightening and hydrating your skin. You can really maximize the effects of an illuminating primer by opting for one that is free from silicones and is instead formulated with antioxidant-rich key ingredients derived from naturally sourced botanicals. An illuminating primer can work great on its own or as a base for the rest of your cosmetic routine.

There’s no shame in having a collection of favorite products to mix up your beauty routine, even if you are losing a little more counter space every day. The key is to ensure your daily lineup includes the bare necessities, so you always know you’re heading out to greet the day with exactly what you need to look and feel your best.
