10 day/9 night  Morocco Jewish heritage tour 

Day 1 - Your trip to Morocco

Fly from New York (JFK) to Marrakech (RAK). 

Day 2 - Marrakech

Visit the market in the old medina to purchase the ingredients for the dish of the day. A cooking demonstration at the riad is followed by lunch, featuring the dishes you were taught. In the afternoon, a guided city tour of Marrakech Medina will take you to the markets and onto the Djema El Fna - Marrakech's famous and wonderfully lively open square with its performers, story-tellers, henna tattoo artists and vendors of food, traditional medicine and magic. Overnight for the first day of your trip at a luxury boutique hotel in ancient Medina

Day 3 - Marrakech - Tinghir

The road south to Tineghir is a trip not to be missed. The spectacular Tizi-n-Tichka pass consists of 100km of charming curves over the High Atlas mountain range.

Stop at the famous village of Ait Ben Haddou: a very celebrated village classified as a cultural heritage for humanity by the UNESCO and the setting where the great films like the Gladiators, Mary of Nazareth and many other films were shot. Pass through Ouarzazate, and onto the beautiful and romantic village of Skoura.

The road continues on thorugh the valley of 'a thousand and one Kasbahs' to El Kella M'Gouna. this village is famous for yearly 'celebratarose' festival of the Roses, which is its main industry.

Pass though the beautiful Dades Valley, to reach Tineghir for the overnight stop.

Day 4 - Tineghir

A morning shop in the local market provides the ingredients for todays plate. After lunch, take a city tour to discover the charming city of Tineghir. The city has a large oasis, very rich with most sorts of fruits, thousands of palm trees, olives and much more. There will be free time to walk through the old mud houses, and the very green oasis along very narrow paths. Continue northwards to the Todra Gorges: a wall like mountain fissure of about 300m. Overnight in Tineghir

Day 5 - Tineghir - Merzouga

We will leave Tineghir via Tinejdad to Erfoud: a city at the foot of the desert and the great golden sand dunes. After visiting Erfoud we will continue via Rissani to Merzouga for dinner and stay overnight by the dunes. There will be an optional two hour camel ride to witness the beautiful sunset over the dunes.

Day 6 - Merzouga - Zagora

If you wish, take a 2 hour camel trek out to view in the sunrise in the dunes. After breakfast, head to the peaceful and mysterious Zagora, passing through the Berber villages of Alnif and Tazzarine.

Day 7 - Zagora

A morning shop in the market will provide the food for the day. After lunch in the riad, tour Zagora and the huge palm groves. An excursion to the famous Tamegroute library enables you to seethe very old Coranic scripts dating back to the 12th century. There may also be an excursion to M'hamid El Ghizlane.

Day 8 - Zagora - Agdz - Ouarzazate

Leave Zagora in the morning to head to Ouarzazate. On the way stop at the Berber village of Agdz with its charming mud houses and nice people.

Day 9 - Ouarzazate

Free time to explore Ouarzazate, a hot spot for film making industry to name a few; Laurence of Arabia, Gladiator., The shelter in the sky, Jesus of Nazareth.

In the evening enjoy the farewell dinner. 

Day 10 - return home

Fly from Ouarzazate airport back to London then to New York (JFK).
